The F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter is one of the most advanced aircraft in the world. BAE Systems Australia plays an important role in the global program, with responsibility for sustaining the RAAF's new fleet of F-35 fighter jets. By 2024, there will be 72 fighter jets in the RAAF's fleet.

We currently have an exciting opportunity as an F-35 Planning Manager within our Aircraft, Training and Sustainment based in Williamtown, NSW.

**Your new role**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, as the F-35 Planning Manager you will be responsible for supervising a dedicated team tasked with planning, scheduling and progressing deeper maintenance events. You will also oversee the F35 Depot reporting processes and support team growth in line with the expansion of the F35 Regional Deeper Maintenance Facility at BAE Systems Williamtown.

**As an F-35 Planning Manager you will**:

- Ensure all work packages are planned and scheduled in accordance with BAE Systems internal and F35 Program procedures, taking into account all critical tasks and project controls.
- Liaise between stakeholders to assist in the resolution of operational issues.
- Attend customer meetings to define and agree on work scope elements for maintenance events.
- Manage the scope control process for work in progress.
- Provide weekly status reporting for all F-35 depot events and lead weekly production meetings.
- Oversee the change control process for the planning of new modifications to ensure that activities are executable with respect to resource, materials, tooling and data.
- Develop and improve standard procedures to ensure that the planning function operates effectively and meets both internal and external requirements.
- Liaise with F35 Program Partners to ensure the effective flow through of maintenance events.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Extensive experience in the use of Planning process, tools and infrastructure
- An understanding of 'Best Practice' planning processes, methods and tools
- Previous experience in the effective use of electronic Maintenance Management Systems
- A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain a minimum NV1 clearance
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership capability and experience

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
