About Our Client
We are currently supporting our client who is a global sports/media business with circa 300 employees in their search for an experienced HR Generalist to lead their HR function globally.
About the Role
As the Global Head of HR, your primary responsibility is to develop and implement a human resources strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Overseeing HR functions, including talent acquisition, talent management and retention, compensation and benefits (including performance plans), employee relations, People Operations, compliance, and organisational development.
With your team, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and executing a human resources strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives, ensuring that it supports business growth, sustainability, and profitability
- Overseeing all aspects of talent acquisition, including employment brand, sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees across different countries and cultures - with the ability to reach out to an augmented supplier if needed
- Day to management, development and retention of global HR resources to achieve HR and business priorities
- Development and implementation of a performance management system, leadership development programs, and succession planning initiatives to identify and develop top talent within the organization
- Development and implementation of a REM & Benefits process
- Ensuring that the organization maintains a positive work environment that supports employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and retention
- Leading and managing change, with the ability to navigate complex organisational structures and cultures
- Ensuring that the organisation complies with all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to HR, including labour laws, workplace safety, and data privacy
- Work with senior leaders to develop and implement organisational development initiatives, including change management, restructuring, and workforce planning
- Oversee HR operations across different regions and countries, including HR technology, workforce experience and process simplification - ensuring that HR policies and practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with local laws and cultures
- Collaborate with global finance teams (who manage payroll) to ensure processes are compliant with relevant location legislative requirements
About you
Ideally you are tertiary qualified in HR and have a proven track record in a Senior HR generalist role, with experience of leading people, being able to be strategic and operational as needed. This is a true generalist role where you will have a seat at the table and be supporting and working with the leadership team on everything HR & Talent. Your experience around systems & process set up, commercial acumen, & driving change through transformation across time zones, will be key to your success in this role.
Noting the size of the business, 300 people globally with 160 here in Australia, this will be a broad reaching role and an HR exec with experience in a hands-on fast paced SME environment will thrive there.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you can make timely decisions with ease, are a problem solver at heart, able to work across all levels of the business, building relationships as you go, while being accessible to those in need in the business.
