**The Opportunity**:
Visy Logistics is a recognised leader in Australian freight services with comprehensive and competitive road, rail and domestic sea freight, intermodal and 3PL capabilities. We offer genuine end-to-end logistics, taking full advantage of the Visy Group’s existing supply chain network, linehaul fleet and expertise.
As our NSW State Manager, you will lead, and support the day-to-day activities of transport and warehousing for all Metro Operations with a growth mindset. You can make a significant difference by guiding and leading the teams to “best practice”.
**The Role**
Reporting to the GM Metro & Intrastate Operations and based at our site in Smithfield, you will enjoy working autonomously managing the day-to-day operations of the logistics business, as well as being the key point of contact for the business internal and external customers & suppliers.
In this hands on role you will work closely with the respective Warehouse Managers and the wider Visy Logistics team, state based and nationally.
Other key responsibilities are but not limited to:
- Full P&L responsibility for operational performance and relevant reporting
- Oversee the shipping, logistics, receiving and material handling within your batch
- Engage and coach thew team daily in relation to safety and the care of their working environment via toolbox talks and promote Safety Improvement Plan
- Improve, implement and / or update supply chain practices and procedures to ensure best environmental practice
- Inventory management and stock control
- Provide support on tender negotiations for prospective new customers relating to new business development
**What you’ll need to bring**:

- Sound knowledge of the supply chain/operations/warehouse landscape ideally within FMCG, Retail or Logistics industry
- managerial level
- Extensive experience working with WMS, TMS coupled with good knowledge of SAP
- Experience managing a P&L
- Highly self-motivated and resilient leader you are assertive and not afraid to make a decision
- A continues improvement mindset with good change management experience
- You can build strong relationships external and internal as this will be crucial to the success of his role
