About the Role

As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting older Australians to maintain their independence and live with dignity. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care, including hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance
  • Assisting with household tasks such as meal preparation and light cleaning
  • Supporting clients with social and community engagement
  • Administering medication as required (if trained and qualified)
  • Providing transport for medical appointments and activities
  • Encouraging and promoting independence, choice, and well-being
  • Implementing individualised care and support plans
Working Hours & Requirements

GCLA operates 24/7 services, with shifts available across public holidays, weekends, overnight, evenings, and mornings. Applicants must be flexible to work across these hours as needed.

  • A genuine passion for supporting older Australians
  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent
  • Experience in aged care or community support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including public holidays, weekends, overnight, evenings, and mornings
  • Experience with dementia care or palliative care
  • Medication Administration training
  • Manual Handling training
