About the role:


Merri-bek City Council is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic communications expert to join our team in a 12-month parental leave role.

Council delivers more than 150 services to our 175,000 residents, and we want a keen communicator to drive our strategic vision and tell the stories of our works and services to our community, through creative communications planning and marketing, including print publications and digital channels.


You would be working in a fun and supportive team of communications professionals working in partnership with the wider organisation to achieve great outcomes for our community.


Skills and experience require to perform the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or a related discipline or a lesser qualification with substantial relevant experience in the field of communications.
  • Relevant experience in managing a range of communication channels for a large organisation.
  • Relevant experience delivering communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Highly developed writing and communication skills.
