About the role:


We are looking for a creative and energetic team member to be part of our Accessible Communications Team to help engage with multicultural communities, with a focus on reaching older people.


You will have the opportunity to help us deliver our Merri-bek Connectors Program, our paid volunteer program with members of our diverse community, help reach diverse communities to inform and engage with them about Council services, programs and projects and you will play an important part in delivering our Accessible and Inclusive Communications Policy.


Skills and experience require to perform the role:

  • Experience supporting communications initiatives and campaigns
  • Experience working with multicultural and multilingual communities
  • Demonstrated ability to build community connections
  • Ability to manage a range of stakeholders, problem solve and work well with others.
  • Experience working in project or program delivery, or in a related area
  • Ability to speak a Merribek community language is highly desired
  • For example, but not exclusive to: Arabic, Chinese, Turkish, Urdu, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese or Nepali.
