  • We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our team as Manager Planning and Economic Development in our Planning Environment and Communities department.
As Manager Planning and Economic Development you'll lead and manage the Planning and Economic team with responsibility for the core functions of:

Development Assessment

  • Strategic Planning, and
  • Economic Development
  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
  • Attractive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience
- plus 10.5% superannuation

  • A leaseback vehicle for operational and private use
  • A mobile phone and lap top

What you'll need to be successful in the role...

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline to the role (e.g. town planning, sustainable development, urban and regional planning, economics, environmental science) or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, development assessment and/or economic development in a complex and changing environment
  • Strong business acumen including financial management, budgetary control, and operational planning
  • A high level analytical and problemsolving skills with the capacity to inspire or support innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and quality customer service, as well as delivering effective staff development and timely performance management
  • A high level interpersonal skills and ability to consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, local organisations, and community
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing relationships, and the ability to keep a customer focused approach in all aspects of the business
  • Expertise in developing and implementing effective community consultation strategies and processes
  • C Class Drivers Licence.
