We currently have an opportunity for a Manager Engineering & Technical Services in our Infrastructure & Liveability department, responsible for managing Council's engineering and technical services functions including:

  • Engineering survey, civil and landscape design
  • Transport and flood planning
  • Asset management and capital program planning
  • Project management of capital works projects
  • Subdivision engineering
  • Tree management
  • Open space bookings and film permits
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person, who will have accountability for planning and delivering critical initiatives and programs to support Council and our community, including:

  • Oversight of the rolling Capital works program
  • Leading continuous improvement in Council's Asset management planning
  • Managing rectification works following recent Natural Disasters
  • Review and update of all Flood Management Plans
  • Delivery of Traffic and road safety improvements
  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
  • An attractive annual salary package awaits dependent upon your relevant skills, experience, and competencies.

What you'll need to be successful in the role...

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline to the role in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in a supervisory/management role with the ability to supervise, manage and coordinate a major functional area.
  • High level analytical and problemsolving skills with the capacity to inspire or support innovative thinking.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and quality customer service, as well as delivering effective staff development and timely performance management.
  • High level interpersonal skills and ability to consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, local organisations, and community.
