About the role


Reporting to the Residential Care Coordinator, the Roster Coordinator position supports our Child, Youth & Family Services in building and managing the rosters for our 24/7 residential care homes in Perth, Broome and Kalgoorlie.

The role will require someone with a background in scheduling and workforce planning as well as being able to provide advice and support to our managers in regards to award conditions and roster optimisation.


The role will also be responsible for supporting workforce planning and induction of staff into the services and supporting the provision of ongoing supervision to frontline staff.


You will work in collaboration with our CYF management team and split your time between our Leederville office and working from home.


The is a great opportunity for an experienced Scheduler/Workforce Planner to take ownership of the role and become an integral member of the wider WA CYF management team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake rostering of Support Workers, ensuring compliance with relevant awards (SCHADS), budgets, Workplace Health and Safety and efficient and effective use of resources.
  • The provision of supervision and support to Support Workers. This is shared with the relevant Case Worker for the service.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with Life Without Barriers WH&S systems, policies and procedures.
  • Build a positive team environment through the demonstration of good communication and interpersonal skills and peer support.
  • Ensure LWB is delivering support services accordance with funding agency standards and agreements.
  • Support and encourage staff to attend training and professional development opportunities and ensure staff are rostered to attend training and mandatory training requirements are met.
  • Work in collaboration with our National After Hours Rostering team
  • Provide general administrative support to CYF management team.

Skills & Experience

  • Administration and data entry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience rostering inline with award regulations.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously (this is a stand alone role).
  • High level interpersonal skills, customer service and relationship building skills, including in influencing and negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Sound experience working with the requirements of the relevant employee (SCHADS) Award.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including and the capacity to work collaboratively within a professional framework.
  • Knowledge of the Community Services sector.
  • Experience in manual rostering using excel spreadsheets and selfdeveloped tools.
