The Role

:

In this role you will:

  • Develop methods and numerical modelling techniques for constructing marine gravity field and bathymetry models using data from SWOT and multisatellite altimeter missions.
  • Assess and analyse new altimetry technology and processes, and metadata from multisatellite altimeters.
  • Write and submit research papers arising from the research, in collaboration with the team members of the project, to high quality refereed journals, conferences and seminars.
  • Attend and present research results at national and international conferences associated with the project.
This 2-year position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

How will you become part of our community?

You will have:

  • A PhD in Geodesy or Geophysics or closely related fields.
  • Advanced conceptual and numerical modelling skills in construction of marine gravity field and bathymetric models using satellite altimetry data.
  • Knowledge and ability in developing algorithms and software codes.
  • Demonstrated recent experience in writing scientific articles.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with University academic and professional staff.
