This Fixed Term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

About the Unit


The Academic Engagement team manages teaching and research support services and develops resources and programs that support researchers, higher degree research students, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Supporting research, the team provides expert advice in copyright, citation management, scholarly publishing, data management and literature reviews.

For learning and teaching, the team develops open education resources, digital and information literacy programs and provides advice on how to embed online resources and skills programs into the curriculum.


What we offer
The remuneration for this position is from $71298 p.a.+17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a posttrades certificate or advanced certificate and extensive relevant experience as a technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with the development and delivery of information literacy programs, across a variety of formats and modes.
  • Sound knowledge of the academic library environment and trends relating to teaching, learning and research.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to participate in a team environment demonstrating clear communication and mutual respect.
  • Sound knowledge of information resources in all forms and demonstrated experience and skills in accessing and utilising these resources.
  • Sound knowledge of copyright obligations, and the ability to assess queries, source information or triage complex cases where required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage time and workloads, solve problems and maintain attention to detail when managing competing demands from multiple stakeholders
