Family Services Australia is seeking motivated and energetic team members who are committed to delivering individualized and person-centered employment support services to our Workforce Australia participants.


Roles are currently available at our Redbank Plains and Springfield sites and will cover maternity leave positions for 6 months.


Our diverse team comes from a range of backgrounds, and we are looking for people who have the life experience to look beyond the resume and connect with employers to build sustainable outcomes for our participants.


Key accountabilities include:

  • Build and foster strong relationships with Employers, Community Groups, Health Care Professionals and Advocacy Groups to ensure that participant receive high quality holistic support.
  • Negotiate and develop individually tailored employment pathway plan with participants, that maximize their independence, employment, social and life skills.
  • Engage, prepare, and address jobseeker vocational barriers to employment by negotiating education, training and work experience activities in order to meet the skill shortages and local labour market opportunities.
  • Support the brokerage of job placements and postemployment support to enable participants to achieve sustainable longterm employment.

Skills and experience / essential criteria

  • Minimum of 13 years' experience in employment support services or related mental health/community sector.
  • An understanding of the issues/challenges facing participants and employers
  • Knowledge of local community agencies and the ability to identify and coordinate a range of appropriate services for participants.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated exposure to challenging conversations with participants, stakeholders and employers.
  • Ability to demonstrate selfreflection, resilience, and accountability within a dynamic case management role.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management ability with a strong resilience capacity, and calmness when working in a dynamic target driven environment.
