A bit about the role


Embedded within our Rates Operations unit, the Rates Collections team is responsible for the effective management of our rates debtors and rates collections process where holistic stakeholder account management through identifying, planning, and implementing required solutions is key.

You will be the central point of contact for rates debtors seeking information and/or support for payment of their rates arrears and will ensure compliance to legislative requirements and industry best practices.

With a background in debtor management and an extraordinaire in collections.

This is not your ordinary collections position, this will entail an empathy led approach, forming bonds and building relationships with customers.

Customer conversations that change the dialogue of Rates Collections.

What you'll deliver

  • Effective management of council's rates debtor accounts
  • Actively manage and facilitate council's rates collections
  • Ensure compliance to relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines
  • Provide support and advice to the Team Leader Rates Collections
  • Drive good customer service practices, working to effectively support a variety of internal and external stakeholders

What you'll bring

  • Strong demonstrated work experience in debtor management and collections
  • Experience in customer servicebased team operations within a complex and sensitive working environment
  • Proficient stakeholder management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills and experience
  • Experience in operational process review and development within the context of relevant legislative and statutory requirements
  • A positive, curious and flexible mind
