The Workplace Technology Service Manager – DLP Specialist will develop and drive Optus’ initiatives around Data Loss Prevention (DLP), which focus on implementing controls around enterprise egress points such as email, web, USB/Bluetooth.

This role will be working closely with and report to the Director for Workplace Technology and will sit as part of one of the squads within the Data Transformation tribe.

Central to this role is your ability to build and implement scalable DLP controls that significantly reduce the risk to our data, while accommodating business requirements around the proper use of egress points.


Your day in the life at Optus

Design, implement, and maintain DLP policies, procedures, and technologies to protect confidential and critical data. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to assess data security requirements and design/implement appropriate controls. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging threats, and standard methodologies in data loss prevention. Investigate and respond to security incidents related to data loss or leakage, including root cause analysis and remediation. Provide relevant training and awareness programs to educate colleagues on data protection standard processes and DLP policies. Roll out email & document classification/labelling practice for the enterprise with corresponding implementation of classification based controls Responsible for reporting and review of alerts triggered from DLP controls to enable proper partner concern to team members when relevant


Your skills to pay the bills

You have confirmed experience in the workplace technology management field (ideally in an agile environment) Proven experience in data loss prevention, information security, or related field. Demonstrable experience of design and implementation of a DLP capability in an organisation is highly desireable Previous experience implementing DLP tools and controls in an enterprise environment. We are fundamentally a Microsoft organisation, if you have exposure to MS that is even better Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across a large organisation
