The Opportunity
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic leadership and vision for the company. With responsibility for driving the overall success and sustainability of the organisation the CEO will champion the execution of Mayfield Childcare’s long-term strategy. The CEO will ensure operational excellence, foster a positive organisational culture, and lead the company’s efforts to deliver outstanding early childhood education and care services, ensuring growth, profitability, and compliance within a highly regulated environment.
The CEO will:
- Develop and execute a clear and compelling strategy for Mayfield Childcare, partnering closely with the Board of Directors to define strategic goals and identify growth opportunities.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality service delivery across all centres, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Develop and manage the organisation’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability, profitability and operational efficiency through effective planning, cost control and resource allocation.
- Foster a positive organisational culture that aligns with the values of Mayfield Childcare, emphasising collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- As the face of Mayfield Childcare, represent the organisation in engaging investors, government agencies, industry associations, and the broader community including parents and families to enhance brand and market presence.
- Lead the company's investor relations strategy, ensuring clear and consistent communication with shareholders and potential investors.
About You
We are seeking an established and entrepreneurial executive leader with a demonstrated commitment to early learning and childcare outcomes. You will foster a performance-based and values-driven culture that delivers on exceptional care outcomes, best positioning Mayfield Childcare as both a provider and employer of choice. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience (10+ years) in a senior leadership role ideally within the childcare, education, or related human services sectors.
- Experience in highly regulated industries; prior ASX executive experience will be highly regarded.
- A proven track record in managing complex operations and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Commercial nous and a robust understanding of M&A, financial management, budgeting and business sustainability.
- Strong people leadership, bringing strengths in supporting geographically dispersed teams through significant change.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to drive consensus and collaboration.
- A proven track record in investor relations, ideally within a publicly-listed company.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is desirable.
