About the OrganisationVicSES is a volunteer-based emergency service that serves as the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake, and landslide emergencies. Our organisation plays a pivotal role in preparing and responding to these hazards and contributes significantly to national and state governing bodies to ensure the safety of all Victorians.
About the RoleAs the Chief Executive Officer, you will spearhead the organisation with a clear focus on planning, prevention, response, and recovery. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our programs and services align with community needs and our strategic vision. You will foster relationships that enhance community engagement, positioning VicSES at the forefront of emergency management through the strength of our dedicated volunteer network.
About YouWe seek a credible executive leader with a strong background in public sector, ideally from service-focused, regulated environments. You should bring experience from operational emergency services or an adjacent sector. As an authentic leader with clear communication skills, you excel in dynamic settings. Your balanced judgement and collaborative approach foster a strong culture centred on volunteers and organisational values.
Key Responsibilities:- Leverage your expertise to drive people leadership, cultural development, and continuous operational improvement within the organisation.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders to position VicSES at the forefront of emergency management.
- Champion the adoption of top-tier systems to deliver a cost-effective, world-class emergency service organisation.
Our organisation offers a competitive salary package, which includes an estimated $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
