The Sustainability Relationship Manager will have the primary responsibility of developing positive views and experiences of Opal’s sustainability performance with customers, internal employees, government agencies and broader external stakeholders.

This role requires close cooperation and coordination with the Opal Sales Team, Marketing & Innovation Team, and Environment & Sustainability Team to share and transfer knowledge and external priorities and trends. 

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:              

  • Attend to customer requests, surveys, meetings, and sustainability system processes such as Sedex/Ecovardis.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Opal products and sustainability value propositions, strategies, and projects.
  • Develop and maintain a government and agency contact Register across Australia and New Zealand.  Liaise with General Manager Corporate Affairs regarding this Register.
  • Develop and maintain a broad understanding of global and ANZ trends including engagement with broader stakeholders.
  • Own, maintain and develop Opal’s Sustainability Knowledge Library
  • Maintain the Opal Sustainability webpage.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;

  • Tertiary qualified, preferably Sustainability, Environmental Science or similar
  • Master of Environment & Sustainability Highly Regarded
  • Travel within Australia and NZ required
  • Able to facilitate successful outcomes by coordinating input from a wide range of internal stakeholders/Subject Matter Experts
  • Organised, detail minded and able to deliver to set deadlines
  • Team oriented but able to work independently as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Passionate about environment & sustainability with the ability to promote the importance of environmental compliance and sustainability within Opal
