The Role

The Sustainability Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, internal employees, government agencies, and external stakeholders to promote Opal's sustainability performance.

This role requires close collaboration with the Opal Sales Team, Marketing & Innovation Team, and Environment & Sustainability Team to share knowledge and priorities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending to customer requests, surveys, meetings, and sustainability system processes.
  • Developing a strong understanding of Opal's products and sustainability value propositions, strategies, and projects.
  • Maintaining a government and agency contact register and liaising with the General Manager Corporate Affairs.
  • Developing and maintaining a broad understanding of global and ANZ trends, including engagement with broader stakeholders.
  • Ownership and maintenance of Opal's Sustainability Knowledge Library.
  • Maintenance of the Opal Sustainability webpage.

Requirements

We are seeking a tertiary-qualified individual with a background in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master of Environment & Sustainability is highly regarded. The successful candidate will have strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to facilitate successful outcomes with internal stakeholders. They will be organized, detail-minded, and able to deliver to set deadlines. A passion for environment and sustainability is essential, with the ability to promote the importance of environmental compliance and sustainability within Opal.
