The Head of Talent & Capability Development leads the strategic development and execution of talent management and organizational development initiatives that support the organisation’s purpose and values.

Working closely with the Chief People Officer and senior executives, they will develop Yooralla’s workforce strategy aligning organisation design and development initiatives with current and future capability requirements. They will provide strategic and operational leadership across end-to-end talent and workforce planning and development functions, including talent acquisition and training and development. They will work with the P&C team and senior leaders to embed our workforce strategy, culture and capability plan.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills in senior leadership roles, demonstrating depth and breadth across multiple area of people and culture capability.

This position is located in Head Office, however travel to other Yooralla locations is required.

Selection Criteria

Mandatory Requirements 

International Police Check (if required) NDIS Worker Screening Check Current and valid proof of identity in Australia

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Professional Experience

Extensive experience in two or more fields of human resources, ideally including talent management and organizational development, with proven experience in a senior leadership role. Experience in community and /or disability services highly regarded. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful talent management and organizational development strategies in complex settings with multiple remote workplace challenges and a diverse workforce. Experience leading recruitment specialists and managing the training function. Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and drive best practice in performance management, leadership development, organisation culture and employee engagement. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills and a flexible leadership style that encourages others to thrive. Experience with a range of HR systems and applications and the ability to analyse data and use insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement. Experience leading change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
