About the Role
We have a part-time position available for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced administration clerk to join our customer focused Theatre Bookings Team.
Joining our team in this opportunity will see you provide comprehensive administrative and customer focused service to our surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, staff and secretaries.
You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless patient health journey as well as the following key responsibilities (but are not limited to):
- All bookings and administrative duties related to the Operating Theatre
- Coordinating all requirements for surgeon’s theatre list
- Administrative support to our theatre complex and scheduling team
- Effectively support all clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital
The role is 2 - 3 days a week and flexibility required to cover sick leave and holiday leave when needed. There are opportunities to work in other areas of the hospital once trained up.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service. The ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of incoming and outgoing patients is a key skill needed for this role. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and should be comfortable working in a team of doctors, nurses, pathologists, administrators and non-clinical staff.
This role will suit an individual with proven medical administration experience as this is a fast-paced environment.
Key Skills and Experience
- Intermediate-advanced skills utilising the Microsoft office suite with ability to maintain data entry accuracy.
- Previous experience in theatre or hospital bookings (highly desirable)
- Experience using Patient Information Systems (highly desirable i.e. Meditech)
- Certificate in Medical Terminology (Desirable)
- Experience in hospital mainframe systems (Desirable)
- A professional phone manner with experience managing incoming and outgoing calls
- Proven ability to work in a customer service focused environment
Remuneration
A base hourly rate $31.49+ superannuation, based on relevant, skills experience and qualifications. (Grade 3 - Year 1)

Requirements
