Job Description

This role involves analysing the current contract framework, supporting policy development, and identifying industrial risks associated with new projects while providing risk management recommendations.

  • Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation to become a trusted partner.
  • Provide high-level, practical, and tactical ER/IR advice to key stakeholders, considering both the broader organisational strategy and local needs.
  • Act as the EA expert, leading and supporting activities such as:
  • EA benchmarking for best-practice improvements
  • Negotiation and consultation to meet business, people, and legislative requirements
  • Leading and/or supporting enterprise bargaining processes
  • Award and EA interpretation.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in employment/industrial relations, a strong grasp of employment legislation, and the ability to handle complex ER/IR matters effectively.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment/Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in employment/industrial relations, including Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation and negotiation
  • Proven ability to lead and execute projects independently
  • Capability to manage complex ER/IR issues with confidence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong consultation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian employment legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in both team-based and stand-alone capacities
  • Sound judgement and influencing skills for achieving desired outcomes
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
