About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Credit & Affordability team as a Credit Specialist- Optimisation. As a Credit Specialist, you’ll be responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of Debt reduction outcomes through driving key initiatives across Credit & Affordability.

The team enable accelerated and structured delivery of improvements while building process improvement capabilities for members within Credit & Affordability. This drives a unique skillset that is paired with the strengths of test-trialing ideas (using campaigns) to create an experimental environment that aims to create a dynamic and creative element above out standard debt recovery functions/teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering and proving uplift of collections outcomes via Campaign delivery, using a champion-challenger methodology

  • Providing advice to stakeholders and functional owners on improved ways of process improvement techniques

  • Effective stakeholder management (internal and external to Credit) to ensure outcomes in line with AGL and Credit & Affordability strategies including the root cause analysis and resolution of operational issues, incidents and trends, and identification and delivery of improvement opportunities

  • Actively participating in, and positively contributing to the output and outcomes focused on varying areas of the credit strategic landscape

  • Recommending and implementing strategies and initiatives, supported by insights, which consistently improve AGL's debt book, reputation and brand, and customer experience.

  • Providing advice to stakeholders and functional owners on improved ways of process improvement techniques

What you’ll bring:

  • SQL interpretation and development capabilities – Basic to Advanced level

  • Proven assertiveness, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Self-managing, pro-active with the ability to manage streams of work end to end independently

  • Strong risk analysis skills leading to sound decision making

  • Strong presentation skills with clear concise communication

  • Experience in preparation of financial models and business cases desirable

  • Experience in credit risk and collections analytics desirable

  • SAP experience preferred
