About the Role…
The First Nations Mentor role is to assist BUSY Ability to engage with our First Nations customers and local community actively and effectively. The Mentor may be assigned other duties as necessary, supporting the leadership team in activities such as advocacy and event planning. These activities will ensure customers and stakeholders receive quality and culturally appropriate service provision while ensuring that BUSY Ability exceeds Government, CoAct (if applicable), and statutory body key performance indicators and contractual obligations. This role is a full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2025, highly likely to be extended.
- Provide high levels of customer service to external/ internal stakeholders
- Provide mentoring to First Nations Customers to ensure a successful transition into sustainable employment
- Provide advice to the management team regarding issues for First Nations customers
- Develop and deliver culturally appropriate non-accredited pre-placement training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants and their Employers or Host Organisations in line with Workforce Australia Guidelines
- Build strong relationships with customers, support their personal growth, cultural identity and connection with community
- Build and maintain links with the First Nations communities in our areas of operation
- Provide post-placement support for First Nations as required

A bit about you...
- Identify as a First Nations person
- Knowledge of safe and culturally appropriate work practices for First Nations people
- Ability to engage with foster stakeholder relationships in the First Nations community
- Capable of managing and delivering multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to understand the recruitment needs of First Nations customers
- Prior experience within the Employment Services sector (highly regarded)
- Ability to obtain a Working With Children's Check and National Police Check
