This position will initially report to the General Manager, Local Government Inspector Implementation.
Following the commencement of the Local Government Inspector, it will report to the Local Government Inspector.
This reporting arrangement ensures continuity during the establishment phase and a smooth transition into the Inspector's operational structure.
The role As the Senior Executive Assistant, you will form part of a dedicated team supporting the Local Government Inspector and Inspectorate officers to strengthen oversight, accountability, and performance across the local government sector in Western Australia.
You will provide high-level executive and administrative support, including managing correspondence, diary coordination, stakeholder liaison, and ensuring the timely and confidential handling of sensitive matters in a high-volume, high-profile public sector environment.
Drawing on your experience in delivering executive support, you will play a vital role in coordinating workflows, preparing agendas, minutes, briefing notes, and confidential documents, and managing enquiries from the Minister's Office, the Department, and local government officers.
You will also assist with approvals, financial administration, and purchasing in line with relevant procedures and delegations.
Your strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and understanding of confidentiality and recordkeeping requirements will be key to your success in this role.
You will bring to the team your expertise in diary and correspondence management, stakeholder engagement, and your ability to work effectively under pressure while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 24 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

Demonstrated experience in providing high-level executive and administrative support, including diary and correspondence management in a confidential, high-volume environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of agendas, minutes, briefings and other executive documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
