The Role
- Provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Local Government Inspector and Inspectorate, including diary management, correspondence coordination and preparation of confidential documents.
- Manages correspondence and administrative workflows, monitors task progress and follow-up actions, and ensures information is handled in accordance with public sector confidentiality and recordkeeping requirements.
- Supports governance processes by preparing, formatting and distributing agendas, minutes, briefing notes and other documents for internal and external meetings, inquiries, and stakeholder engagements.
- Coordinates and prioritises requests and enquiries directed to the Inspector, including from the Minister's Office, the Department, and officers from the local government sector.
- Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to support effective communication, timely responses and accurate information exchange on behalf of the Inspector.
- Assists with the coordination and processing of approvals, financial administration and purchasing in line with relevant procedures and delegations.
- Provides support in the use and maintenance of task tracking and workflow systems and contributes to the continuous improvement of executive support processes.
- Collates agenda, minutes actions and briefing papers for other meetings as required.
- Participates in the broader executive support network across the Department and supports transition planning activities associated with the establishment of the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety.
- Adheres to Work Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity and other legislative requirements in accordance with the parameters of the position.

- Perform any other duties as assigned or necessary to support the objectives of the Department and/or the Inspector.
- Undertake travel for business needs and work outside business hours as required.
