
Mental Injury Return To Work Specialist

**Your Role**
As a Mental Injury Return to Work Specialist you will provide specialist return to work expertise to a small portfolio of complex Mental Injury Worker's Compensation claims, as well as working closely alongside GB's claims managers to provide coaching and mentoring with relation to effectively managing Mental Injury claims.
You will also work closely alongside GB's Claims Teams and Mental Health Hub to both develop innovative strategies to assist Injured Worker's with a mental injury to return to work in a safe manner, and engage with employers and treating health practitioners with a focus on positively influencing and encouraging parties to participate in the return to work process and take ownership of actions.
**You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following**:
- Taking the lead on influencing and driving return to work on Mental Injury Worker's Compensation cases identified at high risk of exceeding expected return to work outcomes.
- Working closely with case managers to manage the return to work aspects of allocated mental injury cases
- Utilising their knowledge and skills in return to work and mental injury management, and exceptional stakeholder management skills, to drive optimal return to work outcomes
- Providing advice and/or assistance to WCV claims staff, employers, workers and treating health practitioners to promote cost effective, durable RTW outcomes centred on a customer focused workers compensation claims service.
- Attending and participating in Case Conferencing, where necessary
- Complying with the Accident Compensation Act 1985/ WIRC Act 2013 and other Legislative requirements
**We're interested in hearing from people who possess**:
- Recent experience within worker's compensation agents or personal injury industry as a Return to Work Coordinator / Manager, Case Manager, Mental Injury Specialist or Occupational Rehabilitation Provider
- An understanding of common mental injuries, treatment options and medical terminology
- Experience in managing complex Return to Work cases through early identification of Return to Work barriers and implementation of effective strategies
- Experience with facilitating Return to Work for workers with a psychological injury is desirable
- Excellent customer service skills
- Tertiary qualification in appropriate discipline such as Psychology, and / or demonstrated experience in a similar role will be held in high regard
