WHSmith is an historic British retailer focusing on news, books and convenience, and is a renowned, competitive leader in the travel market worldwide. Our Australian operations, under which 7 brands currently operate, are rapidly expanding Melbourne Airport has grown significantly over the past few months are we are keen to appoint a passionate and vibrant Staffing Coordinator to support our growing team.

**About the Role**

The new position of Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective and appropriate staffing levels of retail team members for the Airport in accordance with operational service and cost requirements.

Our new Staffing Coordinator must be available to work weekends and evenings, as required.

This is a 6-month contract with potential to be made permeant.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- In consultation with Store Managers and Area Manager ensure that rosters are in entered into the rostering system as soon as they are available.
- Ensure that all rostered team members have successfully undergone and attained any compliance or training before being scheduled to work in the operation.
- Establish a register of team attendance and performance issues, reporting such incidents to the Area Manager and HR Team.
- Continuously review the staffing forecast and actual team worked to ensure that the required data is captured.
- In consultation with Store Managers ensure that all team members are complying with Company policies such as T & A compliance, grooming, and WHSmith requirements.
- Capture and monitor staff availability.
- Implementing and reviewing systems for ensuring that sufficient employees are available to cover all known shift requirements and to control excessive staffing costs.
- Producing management reports and making recommendations as required.
- Administer the coordination of all employee accreditation processes required for ASIC (security) passes.
- In consultation with HR, participate in recruitment drives, as required.
- Assist in facilitating the smooth running of the Airport through adequate and timely supply of team members.

**Skills & Experience**
- High volume casual workforce scheduling/rostering
- Working with a large and diverse stakeholder.
- Working to tight time frames and with budget constraints.
- Working in a supervisory capacity in a retail.
- Executing precise time management skills i.e. planning, prioritising, delegating etc whilst being adaptable in approaching multiple tasks at hand is essential.
- Rostering / Workforce Planning Software (Roubler or similar time and attendance system).
