Contribute to APRA's role as prudential regulator of financial institutions
- Play a key role in improving the quality of the data that APRA collects from the financial institutions
- A highly impactful role working collaboratively across APRA while also engaging with industry and partner agencies, including the Reserve Bank of Australia and Australian Bureau of Statistics
**The Role**
APRA's mandate is to protect the Australian Community by establishing and enforcing prudential standards and practices designed to ensure that, under all reasonable circumstances, financial promises made by institutions we supervise are met within a stable, efficient and competitive financial system.
To help us deliver on our mandate and strategic priorities, we have an opportunity for an Analyst to join our Data Collection Management team. In this role, you will be involved in the collection and collation of information from our regulated and non-regulated institutions, while ensuring that APRA employees and external stakeholders have access to accurate and up to date data.
**Key responsibilities**
- Ensure financial institutions meet their reporting obligations on-time.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Financial Sector (Collection of Data) Act 2001 to ensure APRA's obligations under the Act are met.
- Provide efficient and effective enforcement of the Act, using the least use of effort and legislative power that result in high levels of compliance.
- Determine appropriate methods for ensuring data quality is fit for purpose.
- Contribute to the development of actions to effectively monitor and mitigate issues identified.
- Build and maintaining effective relationships with other areas of APRA, including frontline supervisors and risk specialists.
- Ensure industry data are protected in accordance with the secrecy provisions of the APRA Act 1998.
**About you**
**About APRA**
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) places you at the heart of Australia's financial services industry. APRA serves the Australian community by helping ensure financial institutions deliver on the financial commitments they make, within a stable, efficient and competitive financial system.
At APRA we're committed to providing an inclusive workplace where everyone belongs, feels valued and respected. We aspire to attract and foster diversity of background, thought, and experience, recognising that a broad range of perspectives, approaches and ideas makes us stronger, and better enables us to meet our obligation to protect the financial wellbeing of the Australian community. When applying, please inform us of any adjustments you may need during the interview process.
