The Academic Data Analyst handles the collection, analysis, and reporting of academic data to drive decision-making. They collaborate with academic and administrative staff to maintain data integrity and deliver insights that advance institutional goals.

**About the Role**

**Position Summary**:
The Academic Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of academic data to support decision-making processes within the institutions. They will work closely with academic and administrative staff to ensure data integrity and provide insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the institutions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop methods and reports to collect and retrieve relevant data. Liaise with student records, regulatory and other staff as needed
- Collect and analyse data related to academic metrics, student performance, enrolment trends, and academic program effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain databases and data systems and records necessary for projects and department functions.
- Analyse and interpret complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare reports for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related needs and support their data analysis requirements.
- Issue student and graduate surveys, collate and analyse data received, and compile reports to report on student and graduate outcomes and satisfaction.
- Liaise with student records, regulatory and other staff as needed in the performance of these responsibilities.

**About You**
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development and data mining.
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in higher education or academic settings.
- Familiarity with data management and analysis tools specific to the academic sector.
