**Job purpose**:
This position is responsible for the planning, forecasting and ordering of all packaging materials and some raw-materials for Villawood produced SKUs. It is also responsible for the system set ups for all materials and the run out plans from old packaging to new, working to minimise OSMI. This role is in regular contact with packaging suppliers and some raw material suppliers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Create all master data in SAP for all new materials
- Engage relevant stakeholders such as Plant Manager /Planning Manager/ Procurement Team to hold right size Material Inventory as the need arises
- Update all BOM's to reflect packaging changes and send notification to relevant personnel in the plant
- Forecast on a weekly basis material requirements and send those forecasts to relevant suppliers. Interpret feedback from suppliers and advise Planning Manager of issues and possible solutions
- Talk regularly with key suppliers to review forecast, discuss upcoming changes and address any issues
- Place purchase orders (PO)s with all packaging suppliers so that materials are available in time for finishing requirements
- Be aware of materials warehouse constraints that may impact on ability to store materials
- Resolve issues that may impact warehouse receipting e.g. PO not released, delivered quantity > allowed tolerance
- Review receipt of materials, ensuring sufficient materials are available for finishing requirements. Communicate any issues to the Planning Manager. Keep production plan up to date with relevant comments relating to production runs and material supply issues (eg label changes).
- Follow up outstanding POs and resolve issues related to outstanding POs
- Creating, Processing and Approving of Invoices in a timely manner
- Liaise with team leaders on any issues that may affect delivery of the production schedule
- Support Planning Team Leader in minimizing OSMI
- Support the Planning Focus Resource as required
- Raise COAS for left over materials after a SKU is deleted and ensure deleted materials are disposed on time. This may require getting quotes from third parties for disposal of fragrances and chemicals.
- Cover the absence of the Planning Manager and update the Production Plan and run daily reports.
- Assist the Planning Manager in the planning of warehouse activities
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders such as Marketing/ Procurement/ Packaging /GTC/ Quality / Operations and update the team in a timely manner as needed and to ensure future plant priorities and business needs can be met.
- Have basic understanding of Liquid Making processes
- Cover the Planning Team Leader and Focus Resource position when required
- Keep a track of non-inventory materials used in the plant and ensure timely replenishment.
- Liaise with external vendors for re-work of stock as required.
- Conduct all activities in line with site safety requirements and standards
**Education**:
Higher School Certificate
TAFE, Diploma or Degree in relevant supply chain disciplines
APICS qualifications would be an advantage
**Experience**:
2 plus years' experience in planning and purchasing in ERP ECC systems
Experience in using SAP would be beneficial
