Responsibilities- Lead the development, delivery, and marketing of tourism initiatives that strengthen the region's position as a premier visitor destination.
- Identify, plan, and implement tourism projects and programs, ensuring high quality delivery aligned with Council's long-term vision.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from local tourism operators and businesses to community groups and government agencies, to build collaborative partnerships that drive shared outcomes.
- Proven leadership experience in tourism, marketing, or regional development, with the ability to mentor and guide a team in a collaborative, innovative environment.
- Strong knowledge of the tourism industry, including regional marketing, visitor experience, and product development, and the ability to apply relevant strategies and policies to practical outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to resolve complex issues and build strong partnerships.
- Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing, events, economic development, or a related field; substantial experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
