About the role

As the Function & Events Manager at Fowles Wine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the winery's events and functions. This is a full-time role based in Avenel, VIC and offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing hospitality organisation.

This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as events demand.


• The Functions + Events Manager's responsibility is to ensure a prompt response to all function and event enquiries, and to prepare and distribute event orders/ function run sheets in a thorough, accurate and timely fashion


• Ensures all functions and events are executed accurately, efficiently and with great attention to detail


• Ensures guests are delighted with their experience


• Seeks guest feedback following all major functions and events


• Ensures thorough comprehension of the core values of Fowles Wine, and to uphold the values and philosophy of the business


• Works closely with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to ensure accurate execution of customer requests whilst maximising revenue and profitability


• Drives sales through the creation of revenue building events and initiatives


• This role comprises administration duties as directed, including but not limited to; answering of phones, taking reservations, taking messages, liaising with suppliers, formatting and printing of menus, written correspondence


• Assists in operational duties during peak periods.


• As a member of the management team they will lead by example, remembering that excellent customer service is always the absolute priority

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar events management role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry
  2. Proven ability to plan and deliver successful events, from small functions to large-scale weddings and corporate functions
  3. Corporate connected individual to attract new corporate business to Fowles Wines
  4. Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  6. Working knowledge of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
  7. Proficiency in using event management software and tools
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with event management systems (Seven Rooms & Ivvy preferred)
  9. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently
