About the Role:

As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil and infrastructure developments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans from first principles;
  • Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contracts;
  • Develop and analyse RFQs from subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Compile project cost options, value engineering analyses, and pre-tender cost plans;
  • Conduct end-of-tender reviews to ensure estimate accuracy and consistency;
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and trade partners to coordinate tender inputs;
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

About You:

Qualification and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a Construction-related discipline;
  • Strong understanding of civil infrastructure construction processes, with underground works experience or a keen interest in gaining it;
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as CATS/Expert Estimation and CAD programs for accurate quantity take-offs;
  • A track record of preparing detailed tenders, cost plans, and value engineering analyses;
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines;
  • Experience in tier 1 or tier 2 contracting environments, or cost estimating consultancy, is highly desirable.
