About the Role

You'll own the estimating process from initial tender through to submission, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers. Your decisions will directly influence what work the company wins.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation
  • Source, assess and negotiate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and project optimisation
  • Prepare tender submissions that are strategic, competitive, and compelling
  • Maintain market knowledge on pricing, trends and construction methodologies
  • Partner with project delivery teams to ensure tenders translate into successful projects

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (desirable)

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of civil works (earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities)
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Excel (non-negotiable)
  • High attention to detail and a head for numbers
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Clear communication and strong negotiation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (desirable)
