We're seeking a capable and collaborative leader to oversee the Guild Student UWA essential services – providing structure, support, and strategic oversight to teams dedicated to wellbeing, advocacy, engagement, and connection at UWA.
This part-time position offers flexible, school hour friendly scheduling, making it ideal for parents or individuals seeking work-life balance
About the Role
As the Student Services Manager, you'll take ownership of the leadership, planning, and continuous improvement of the Guild's three student-facing departments:
- Student Assist – Counselling, advocacy, and welfare
- Guild Volunteering
- Guild Student Centre (GSC)
- Cross-organisational projects and initiatives as required
You'll ensure these services remain inclusive, responsive, and aligned with the Guild's mission to support and empower students. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll guide departmental managers and provide expert input into high-impact student matters, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Who You'll Work With
Report directly to the Managing Director as a key conduit between service teams and executive leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of service area managers
- Collaborate with internal departments and elected student leaders
- Engage with UWA wellbeing teams and external community services
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support departmental managers across three student-facing areas
- Lead strategic planning, team development, and service delivery improvements
- Provide expert support and oversight on complex student welfare cases
- Ensure services are inclusive, student-driven, and outcome-focused
- Oversee reporting, budgeting, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Build partnerships with university and community stakeholders
- Represent the Guild in relevant working groups, networks, and forums
About You
You'll be a people-focused leader who thrives in dynamic, purpose-driven environments. You bring experience in student, community, or welfare settings, along with the ability to support teams delivering high-quality front-line services.

- Demonstrated management skills that drive efficiency and operational effectiveness while maintaining a high standard of service quality
