The UWA Student Guild is seeking a Marketing and Social Media Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Marketing and Brand Manager, you will support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns that highlight the Guild's services, events, clubs, and student initiatives. A key focus of this role is producing engaging, student-centered content for our digital platforms, helping to connect with and inspire the UWA student community while promoting the dynamic and vibrant opportunities offered by the Guild.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all marketing efforts are aligned with the Guild brand.
  • Manage and monitor the Guild's social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn). Maintaining a central content calendar, including scheduling and publishing relevant and creative content to ensure engagement with students.
  • Develop student communications, in particular the 'Guild Weekly' newsletter which is sent via email to all students during semester.
  • Assist with website management, make updates (from staff and students) in a timely manner and create new pages as requested. Continually monitor the user experience
  • Support Guild-led events on campus such as O-Day, PROSH, Guild Ball, weekly activities, end of semester functions etc.
  • Stakeholder management, ensuring marketing and promotional initiatives are communicated to the relevant parties.

What you'll bring

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, copywriting ability and attention to detail.
  • Experience in creating engaging digital marketing content, including photos, videos and visual assets.
  • Demonstrated ability in social media management.
  • Up to date knowledge of social media trends, platform algorithms and emerging tools.
  • A qualification in marketing, communications, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for student life
