**_ _**The Opportunity**
**The Kids Research Institute is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Capacity Building to join the Kulunga Aboriginal Unit. This position works closely with the Head of Kulunga to operationalise and achieve key priorities outlined in the Research Imagined Strategic Plan (2025-2035).
In this leadership role, your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the implementation of the Aboriginal Employment and Career Development (AECD) Strategy, aligned to the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
- Build and maintain strong networks with internal stakeholders, government, Aboriginal communities, and sector partners.
- Lead capacity and capability initiatives that create meaningful pathways for staff, students, and researchers - particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Manage and deliver special projects, programs and reporting requirements that drive innovation and measurable impact.
- Champion a workplace culture that values equity, inclusion, cultural respect, safety, and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at the Perth Children’s Hospital.
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant qualifications (minimum diploma) in education, project management, health, social sciences or related field, with an undergraduate degree desirable.
- Experience in project management and/or business administration, with the ability to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
- A deep understanding of Aboriginal self-determination, cultural frameworks, and Aboriginal health research.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and supporting diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across government, community, and research sectors.
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal - with a proactive approach to problem solving and collaboration.
- Experience in delivering training and supporting academic and career pathways, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
