GPS Electrical Services is an industrial-based electrical contracting company delivering projects across diverse industrial and infrastructure sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, transport, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and other process-driven industries. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, design-and-construct electrical solutions, we are expanding into Sydney, and we're looking for a driven Project Manager to lead projects and develop new opportunities in the region.
About the Role:
As Project Manager, you'll lead end-to-end delivery of industrial and infrastructure projects while helping establish and grow GPS Electrical Services' presence in Sydney. This hands-on role combines project leadership with technical input, client relationship management, and business development, supported by our Melbourne head office. It's an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to drive high-quality outcomes, build local partnerships, and play a key role in expanding a respected national organisation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Deliver end-to-end projects – from bidding through to design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Business Development:Build local relationships with our extensive National customer base across a wide range of industrial and infrastructure sectors.
- Hands-On Support:Provide technical and practical input in design, technical delivery, quality control, and project coordination.
- Industrial Electrical Experience:Apply your background as an industrial electrician across switchboards, control systems, and plant infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Melbourne head office for resources, design support, and delivery teams.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and profitability.
- Mentor subcontractors and build relationships with trusted partners.
- Ensure projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Implement risk management and safety systems (including SWMS and assessments).
- Travel: Be available to travel as required to support project and client needs.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5+ years in project management roles within industrial or infrastructure sectors.
- A current NSW electrical licence.
- A leader of culture for the team.
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- A self-motivated leader with the drive to build a presence and grow our Sydney client base.
- Hands-on experience in LV switchboards, distribution boards, panel boards, control panels, and MCCs.
- Strong knowledge of AS61439 switchboard design and Australian Standards (AS/NZS3000 & AS/NZS61439).
- Demonstrated industrial experience across either manufacturing, utilities, transport, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or other process industries.
- Project Management qualifications are an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to high standards.
- Current working rights in Australia.
