Junior Industrial Design :

12-month contract position

Company Description:

House of Nerds is a film production company built around supporting the hardware requirements for both IMAX and feature film productions. We're a young, enthusiastic team inspired and driven to innovate. We're looking for team members who are self-motivated and can apply themselves to a variety of challenges.

Job Description:

  • 12-month contract, flexible hours, upon completing a 3-month probation training period
  • The position is suitable for Uni graduates or 1-2 years of professional Industrial Design experience.
  • The job will require you to be able to work with client requests for design briefs
  • Developing film hardware, 3D printing, prototyping and managing manufacturing requirements with vendors
  • Contribute to the development of a number of Australian IMAX and feature films

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks
  • understands CAD and manufacturing principles/pipelines.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and a critical eye for maintaining a high level of execution
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and problem-solve
  • 3D Stereo experience or camera design experience beneficial
