DDP Consulting is a Canberra-based consultancy specialising in digital transformation, ICT delivery, and strategic recruitment services for the Australian Government. We partner with agencies to solve complex challenges by aligning the right talent with the right outcomes.

We are looking for an experienced
Change Manager
to support a major transformation program for an Australian Government client. This role will lead planning, coordination, and delivery of change management activities, with a strong focus on business readiness, stakeholder engagement, and communications.

Contract:
12 months

Location
: Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane (hybrid available)

Security Clearance Requirement:
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a minimum Baseline security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess the impact of proposed changes, develop mitigation strategies, and minimise disruption to operations
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels to build understanding, engagement, and commitment to change initiatives
  • Leading or supporting training sessions, workshops, and engagement activities to prepare staff for new systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Providing support and guidance to ensure adoption and sustainment of change outcomes
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of change management activities and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Equipping operational and delivery teams to confidently champion change and communicate anticipated impacts
  • Making informed decisions using sound judgement, expertise, and knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and program frameworks
  • Providing expert advice and practical support to staff on managing change and addressing resistance

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in implementing and delivering organisational change by engaging and motivating employees to embrace new ways of working
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience using a range of established change management methodologies and frameworks
  • Demonstrated capability supporting or leading large-scale organisational change across multiple teams
  • A strong understanding of how people experience change, supported by a practical toolkit of strategies, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within high-performing teams to deliver against program objectives
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously while maintaining oversight of interdependencies, risks, and quality standards

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Formal qualifications in organisational change management, business, communications, or related disciplines
  • Industry-recognised certifications such as
    Prosci
    ,
    ADKAR
    , or
    Change Management Institute (CMI)
    accreditation
  • Experience working within Commonwealth or state government agencies, especially in ICT transformation contexts
