The
Organisational Change Manager
will play a pivotal role in driving successful organisational change for the creation of Digital Canberra. You will be working closely with the Senior Executive to ensure that the transition is smooth, strategic and support both operational continuity and staff wellbeing.
As the Organisational Change Manager, you will:
1. Undertake strategic change planning and execute the plan. This includes the development of the change management strategies tailored to the scope and impact of the change as it proceeds over time, and ensure alignment of activities within the broader government context.
2. Engage with Digital Canberra Executive and staff, as well as government stakeholders to assess the impact of structural, functional and reporting line changes, and identify gaps in business process. This includes supporting their augmentation or creation where processes do not exist.
3. Lead the communication efforts to ensure that staff and stakeholders understand the nature, timing and implications of the changes in order to reduce uncertainty and clarify arrangements where necessary.
4. Develop benefits maps and profiles to track the success of the change initiatives, and monitor change readiness and embed continuous improvement practices throughout the lifecycle of the change.
5. Support cultural transformation by embedding collaboration, whole of government centric values as recommended in the 2025 Taskforce Report.
Professional/Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Proven experience managing change in a complex organisational environment.
- Relevant tertiary education in Business, Organisational Psychology, Change Management or related field.
- Experience in organisational change management and/or relevant industry certification.
- Strong skills with identifying where change impacts will occur
- Has the capability to understand business process impacts for stakeholders
- Act as a steward and enable stakeholders to improve business processes in their environment
- Have the capacity to support stakeholders when experiencing the discomfort of change
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and manage ambiguity.
