Australian Electoral Commission (AEC)
to source an experienced
Change Manager
to join the
Indigo Change Management Team
, supporting one of the AEC's most complex and strategically significant transformation programs.

About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in helping AEC staff understand, adapt to, and embrace new ways of working across the Indigo Program — a major multi-stream initiative modernising the AEC's systems, processes, and service delivery.

Working within a collaborative, high-performing team, you'll act as the link between the program's value streams and business units to ensure tailored, practical change strategies, communications, and training materials are developed and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement
    change management strategies
    that support adoption and sustainable transformation outcomes.
  • Assess impacts
    of proposed changes and design mitigation strategies that minimise operational disruption.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders
    across the AEC to build understanding and commitment to new ways of working.
  • Lead or support
    workshops, training, and engagement sessions
    to build capability and readiness.
  • Provide expert guidance to business areas on
    overcoming resistance and embedding change
    .
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the effectiveness of change activities.
  • Produce fit-for-purpose
    communication and training artefacts
    that align to AEC frameworks and values.

About You

You are an adaptable, people-focused change professional with proven experience supporting
large-scale organisational change
. You combine empathy with structure — knowing how people experience change and applying proven frameworks to make transitions stick.

You'll bring:

  • Experience applying
    structured change management methodologies
    (e.g., Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent).
  • Excellent
    stakeholder-engagement
    and communication skills across all organisational levels.
  • Ability to juggle
    multiple work packages
    and maintain quality and interdependency awareness.
  • Proven record leading or supporting
    major ICT / transformation initiatives
    in government or large enterprises.
  • Understanding of
    training, communications, and readiness planning
    in complex environments.
  • Must be an
    Australian citizen
    and hold (or be able to obtain)
    Baseline clearance
    .
