Hands-On Facilities Coordinator – Be the On-the-Floor Leader We Need

Full-time | Redfern, Sydney

Join our Fitness & Aquatics Centre and make a real difference in the community We're seeking a hands-on Facilities Coordinator to oversee building repairs and maintenance, supervise Duty Managers, and lead by example on the floor.

You'll work closely with the Centre Manager, site Facility Manager, NSWALC, and the local community to ensure the Centre is safe, compliant, and welcoming for all visitors. This role includes regular Duty Manager shifts, contractor management, WHS compliance, and reporting in Lucidity.

About you

  • Experienced in facilities or operations management (fitness, aquatics, leisure, or similar)
  • Hands-on leader who leads by example and supports staff on the floor
  • Strong knowledge of WHS, building compliance, and child safety standards
  • Skilled in rostering, contractor coordination, maintenance oversight, and operational problem-solving
  • Flexible to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends
  • Hold a current Lifeguard license, First Aid & CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in facility management, sport & recreation, or a related field
  • Pool plant operations knowledge and/or Aquatic Technical Operator certification
