About the Business Unit:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria (CV), Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
CV is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
CV also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders. As part of the CJS group, the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is a 568-bed medium to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
About the Role:
The Operational Support Coordinator is a key role within the Operations Managers office at the DPFC and is responsible for preparing correspondence on behalf of the Senior Operations Manager, collating documents to respond to various requests, providing advice for the preparation of high level briefings relating to incidents and assisting the Executive Team in the production of Monthly Reporting requirements.
Some of your duties will include:
- Providing high-quality confidential support to the Senior Operations Manager including the management of diary, email and telephone
- Investigating and handling various information on behalf of the Senior Operations Manager and Operations Managers maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Assessing, prioritising and co-ordinating incoming correspondence, ensuring necessary follow up action.
This position will require direct prisoner contact. Successful incumbant will work Monday to Friday. This role does not involve shift, weekend or public holiday work.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Well-developed computer literacy
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
- Demonstrated experience in office administration
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of TRIM, other departmental software and Microsoft suite applications.
