The Butchers Block Wine and Dine in Wahroonga is a lively restaurant located in the North Shore of Sydney and has established itself as a significant player in the local casual dining scene.
We are going through an exciting period in our history and have expanded the location of where our customers can come and experience the best service and quality food there is to offer.
We now have exciting positions open for Head chef in our Wahroonga location.
About the role
As a key member of the team your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead kitchen team
- Oversee and organise kitchen produce and ingredients
- Hire and train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
- Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency in accordance with restaurant standards
- Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
- Daily ordering, upkeep of kitchen hygiene systems

Skills and experience
To be considered for this role we are looking for candidates with the following minimum experience and skills:
- Certificate 3 in Commercial cookery
- Must have at least 5 years post-graduation practical kitchen experience for sous/head chef
- Be able to manage a team in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Take pride and be passionate about their work
- Be reliable and have a strong work ethic
