Sonnel Hospitality is hiring a Head Chef for Hurstville Ritz Hotel. This leadership role involves overseeing a newly acquired kitchen, shaping the venue's culinary direction, and collaborating across departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic chef with a passion for modern Australian cuisine and a track record in high-volume venues. WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- Manage and inspire a team of passionate chefs and kitchen staff
- Create and implement creative, seasonal menus that showcase the best local and seasonal produce
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and food handling regulations
- Team oriented approach to management with a mindset of open communications
- Capable of building and managing relationships with multiple departments, key stakeholders & customers
- Confident in 'managing up' and influencing teams
- Excellent communication; written and verbal
- Monitor kitchen operations, inventory, and budget to maximise efficiency and profitability
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and improve culinary offerings
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Chef in a high volume, fast-paced, multifaceted venue
- Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a certificate or diploma in Commercial Cookery
- Demonstrated expertise in a range of cooking styles and techniques
- Excellent time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
