Vesuvius seeks a career-driven Purchasing Officer to manage purchasing and inventory operations, primarily focusing on its foundry division, Foseco.

Your focus will be on purchasing both raw and non-raw materials, managing local and international supply to meet production demands and ensure continuity. A varied role, it offers exposure to different categories, vendors and daily challenges.

Hands-on and detail-driven, your day will involve raising purchase orders, coordinating international shipments, monitoring supply performance and keeping stock levels in check. You'll work closely with internal teams, logistics partners and a trusted supplier base to keep everything moving.

You've worked in purchasing within a manufacturing environment and know your way around ERP systems (Syspro is a plus), Excel and forecasting. You understand the value of stock control and delivery performance. You're commercially aware, organised and solutions focused. You know how to negotiate, where to look for alternatives, and how to improve what's already in place.

Reporting to an experienced Procurement Manager, you'll be supported with practical guidance on supplier management, systems and negotiation. It's a great chance to sharpen your skills and contribute in a meaningful way. Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.

The role is full-time and based on-site at Port Kembla, with regular travel to the Padstow plant two to three days a week (pool vehicle provided). You'll be joining a global business with the feel of a tight-knit local team where you're backed, trusted and valued.
