About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our team. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, lead shifts, and ensure smooth and efficient service. This is a full-time, permanent position suited for a passionate and career-driven chef ready to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menu items to a high standard

Lead and supervise kitchen operations during service

Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation

Support menu development, seasonal specials, and cost control

Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team members

Manage stock rotation, ordering, and supplier coordination

Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations

Monitor portion control, food costs, and wastage

Collaborate closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow

Skills & Experience:

Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role

Strong leadership and communication skills

Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management

Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume environment

Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak periods
