THE VILLE RESORT-CASINO
The Ville Resort-Casino is tropical North Queensland's premier destination for dining, events and entertainment - located in gorgeous Townsville and boasting 300 days of sunshine every year. Rising from the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, The Ville combines casual sophistication with the vibrant, playful spirit of modern Australia. Featuring award-winning restaurants (including Miss Songs and Quarterdeck), world-class facilities and entertainment, The Ville is one of Queensland's hottest tourism destinations.
ARDO HOTEL
Ardo is a new $88 million dollar hotel that opened in Townsville, next door to The Ville, in late 2023. It's arrival brings elevated relaxation and rejuvenation to North Queensland's premier leisure and entertainment precinct, nestled on the edge of the Coral Sea with uninterrupted views across to Magnetic Island. It's sprawling hotel suites, world-class dining outlets (including Marmor and Terasu), day spa and signature rooftop pool deck and bar combine to celebrate the spirit of the tropics with unique Ardo flair.
THE ROLES
We are seeking talented culinary staff for a range of chef positions across all of our venues to help bring this spectacular destination to life.
Available roles include:
- Senior Sous Chef
- Sous Chef
- Junior Sous Chef
- Senior Chef de Partie
- Chef de Partie & more
All chef roles will be responsible for assisting with leading and managing the kitchen, menu design and recipe creation, WHS compliance, training/developing junior workers and ensuring the consistent delivery of high standards through every service.
ABOUT YOU
All chefs will be required to demonstrate:
- formal trade qualifications in a relevant field;
- minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role;
- ability to create new menu ideas & assist with menu preparation;
- ability to work collaboratively in a high energy kitchen;
- ability to multitask & maintain 5-star standards of quality & service;
- strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques & kitchen equipment;
- ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment;
- keen eye for detail & a passion for creating visually appealing & delicious dishes;
- keen interest & passion for keeping up-to-date with industry trends;
- a working understanding of & ability to maintain food safety standards & HACCP;
- excellent communication skills; and
- flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, nights & public holidays.
