Sox Hospitality is a dynamic and growing hospitality group celebrated for creating venues that blend exceptional design, bold flavours, and great energy. As we prepare to launch our newest beachside café in the heart of Surfers Paradise, we're seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to support the kitchen team and help bring our culinary vision to life.

About the Role
Working alongside our Head Chef, you'll help execute an innovative, seasonal menu that celebrates modern Australian café culture — from standout breakfasts to signature beachside bites. You'll play a key role in maintaining kitchen operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring every dish reflects our commitment to quality, creativity, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and executing seasonal, on-trend menus
- Support the Head Chef in leading, coaching, and developing the kitchen team
- Oversee prep, production, and plating to ensure high standards
- Assist with food cost management, inventory, and supplier coordination
- Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Contribute ideas to menu development, operational improvements, and brand initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Cook in a high-volume café or casual dining environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Creative approach to food and presentation with attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety
- Full Australian working rights and availability for early starts
